Mission Profile

The Titan III Commercial (Martin Marietta Commercial Titan) was a three-to-four-stage American heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Titan family, a commercially marketed variant using Titan IIIC-derived hardware for large satellite deployments. Standing 47 m tall with a 3.1 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 680 tonnes, it generated 12,000 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 14,515 kg to low Earth orbit or 5,000 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in January 1990, the Titan III Commercial launched heavy communications satellites including Intelsat and Japanese government payloads before the commercial programme was ended.
