Mission Profile

The Falcon Heavy EM-1 (Falcon Heavy Exploration Mission 1) was a proposed two-stage American heavy-lift launch vehicle concept in the Falcon 9 family, an early design iteration of the Falcon Heavy studied around 2011 when SpaceX was developing the triple-core vehicle concept. Standing 70 m tall with a 3.7 m core diameter and a projected liftoff mass of 1,421 tonnes, it would have generated 22,819 kN of thrust and delivered 63,800 kg to LEO. Conceived around 2011, this early Falcon Heavy design evolved significantly before the vehicle that actually flew in 2018.
