Mission Profile

The Thor SLV2A Agena D (Thor SLV-2A Agena D, Thorax Agena D) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, pairing a Thor first stage with the versatile Agena D restartable upper stage under the Thor IRBM Program. Standing 23.5 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 56 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust. First flying in February 1963, the Thor SLV2A Agena D was one of the most heavily used military launch vehicles of the 1960s, deploying Corona reconnaissance, DMSP weather, and other classified satellites.
