Mission Profile
The Spica (Spica and MLP Sputnik) is a proposed two-stage Danish amateur launch vehicle in the Copenhagen Suborbitals family, intended as the ultimate vehicle to carry a human on a suborbital spaceflight using entirely crowd-funded, open-source technology. Standing 27 m tall with a 1.4 m diameter and a projected liftoff mass of 30 tonnes, it is designed to deliver 400 kg to low Earth orbit. With a speculative first flight around 2028, the Spica represents the long-term goal of Copenhagen Suborbitals' remarkable volunteer-driven spaceflight programme.
