Mission Profile

The Delta C (Thor-Delta C, DSV-3C) was a three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, an evolution of the Delta B with a more powerful second stage featuring the restartable AJ10-118D engine. Standing 28 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 57 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 360 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in November 1963, the Delta C launched several NASA scientific and applications satellites including early Tiros weather satellites.
