Mission Profile

The Scout X-3C (Scout X3C) was a four-stage American launch vehicle in the Scout family, an improved variant with enhanced upper-stage motors for slightly increased payload delivery. Standing 22 m tall with a 1.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 18 tonnes, it generated 464 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 68 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in October 1964, the Scout X-3C continued the Scout programme's reliable service for NASA scientific satellite missions during the mid-1960s.
