Mission Profile
The Long March 4B (CZ-4B) is a three-stage Chinese launch vehicle in the Long March 2,3,4 family, a workhorse for sun-synchronous orbit missions used primarily for Earth observation and meteorological satellite deployment. Standing 45.8 m tall with a 3.4 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 249.2 tonnes, it generates 2,962 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 4,200 kg to low Earth orbit or 1,500 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in May 1999, the Long March 4B has maintained one of the highest flight rates in the Chinese launch fleet, reliably serving CASC's remote sensing and weather satellite programmes.
