Mission Profile
The Scout G1 (Scout-G1) was a four-stage American launch vehicle in the Scout family, the final operational variant of the long-running Scout programme with improved solid rocket motors. Standing 25 m tall with a 1.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 21.3 tonnes, it generated 464 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 183 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in October 1979, the Scout G1 served as NASA's primary small satellite launcher through the end of the Scout programme in 1994, completing the series' remarkable three-decade operational career.
