Mission Profile

The Delta 0900 (DSV-3P) was a two-to-three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, a configuration without strap-on solid boosters using only the Thor first stage and a Delta upper stage. Standing 35.4 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 100 tonnes, it generated 921 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 900 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in July 1972, the Delta 0900 offered a low-cost option for lighter payloads that did not require the augmented thrust of strap-on boosters.
