Mission Profile

The Atlas SLV3A Agena D was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Atlas family, combining the upgraded Atlas SLV-3A booster with the versatile Agena D restartable upper stage. Standing 28.7 m tall with a 3.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 120 tonnes, it generated 1,880 kN of liftoff thrust. First flying in March 1968, the Atlas SLV3A Agena D launched classified military reconnaissance, signals intelligence, and early warning satellites during the later years of the Atlas-Agena programme.
