Mission Profile

The BFR (Big Falcon Rocket) was a two-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle concept in the Starship family, an earlier design iteration of what would become SpaceX's Starship/Super Heavy system. Standing 106 m tall with a 9 m diameter and a projected liftoff mass of 4,400 tonnes, it would have generated 52,700 kN of liftoff thrust and delivered 150,000 kg to low Earth orbit. Conceived around 2018 under the Starship programme, the BFR design evolved through several revisions before SpaceX settled on the final Starship architecture that proceeded to flight testing.
