Mission Profile
The Jupiter (DIRECT v3.0) 130 Cargo 10m (DIRECT v3.0 Jupiter-130) was a proposed two-stage American heavy-lift launch vehicle concept in the STS family, designed under the DIRECT proposal as an alternative to NASA's Ares V using modified Space Shuttle hardware with a 10 m payload fairing. Standing approximately 94 m tall with a 10 m fairing diameter and a projected LEO capacity of 96,000 kg, it was one of the most detailed community-developed alternative architectures. Conceived around 2010, the Jupiter DIRECT concept was superseded by the Space Launch System, which adopted some similar design principles.
