Mission Profile

The SLS Block 1A Cargo (2011 Concept) (Space Launch System Block 1A Cargo) was a proposed two-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle concept in the SLS family, an early configuration studied during the Space Launch System programme's initial design phase. Standing approximately 97 m tall with an 8.4 m core diameter, it represented one of several SLS configurations evaluated before the Block 1 and Block 1B variants were selected for development. Conceived around 2011, the Block 1A Cargo was superseded by the evolved SLS architecture that proceeded to flight.
