Mission Profile

The Saturn V MLV-25L Two Stage (Modified Launch Vehicle 25L 2-stage) was a proposed two-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle in the Saturn family, studied under the Apollo Applications Program as a simplified Saturn V omitting the S-IVB third stage. Standing approximately 111 m tall with a 10.1 m core diameter, it would have used only the S-IC and S-II stages for direct heavy-lift to low Earth orbit. Conceived around 1965, the MLV-25L was one of several Saturn V derivative concepts that were not pursued as post-Apollo funding was curtailed.
