Mission Profile

The Titan IIIB modified (33B, Titan 33B) was a two-to-three-stage American launch vehicle in the Titan family, a classified military variant using a modified Titan IIIB core for intelligence satellite delivery. Standing 35.4 m tall with a 3.1 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 159 tonnes, it generated 1,913 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 3,600 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in March 1971, the Titan IIIB modified launched KH-8 Gambit reconnaissance satellites for the US National Reconnaissance Office.
