Mission Profile

The Scout B1 (Scout-B1) was a four-stage American launch vehicle in the Scout family, an upgraded variant with improved solid rocket motors for enhanced small satellite delivery. Standing 22 m tall with a 1.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 21.5 tonnes, it generated 464 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 100 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in August 1971, the Scout B1 continued the Scout programme's role as a reliable and affordable small launch vehicle for NASA, military, and international scientific satellite missions.
