Mission Profile

The Long March 8 Reusable (CZ-8A) is a planned two-stage Chinese launch vehicle in the Long March 6,7,8 family, a variant of the Long March 8 designed with first-stage vertical landing and reuse capability. Standing 50.3 m tall with a 3.4 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 356 tonnes, it generates 4,800 kN of liftoff thrust and is designed to deliver 5,000 kg to low Earth orbit. With a speculative first flight timeline, the CZ-8A represents China's effort to develop reusable rocket technology comparable to SpaceX's Falcon 9 for cost-effective commercial launches.
