Mission Profile
The Scout X-5C (Scout X5C) was a four-stage American launch vehicle in the Scout family, an improved variant with enhanced upper-stage performance for small satellite missions. Standing 22 m tall with a 1.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 21 tonnes, it generated 464 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 90 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in April 1968, the Scout X-5C continued the Scout programme's reliable service for NASA scientific and international cooperative satellite missions.
