Mission Profile
The Proton-K Briz M (8K82K Briz-M, 14S43) was a four-stage Russian launch vehicle in the Proton family, pairing the Proton-K core with the versatile Briz-M upper stage capable of multiple restarts for complex orbital manoeuvres. Standing 53 m tall with a 7.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 705 tonnes, it generated 9,870 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 5,500 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in July 1999, the Proton-K Briz M bridged the transition from the Proton-K to the modernised Proton-M and launched numerous commercial and government satellites.
