Mission Profile

The Proton-K Blok DM-2M (8K82K Blok DM-2M, 11S861-01) was a four-stage Russian launch vehicle in the Proton family, pairing the Proton-K core with an upgraded Blok DM-2M upper stage for improved high-orbit delivery. Standing 55.4 m tall with a 7.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 705 tonnes, it generated 9,870 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 5,600 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in January 1994, the Proton-K Blok DM-2M launched Russian government navigation and communications satellites during the transition from the Soviet to Russian space programme.
