Mission Profile

The Saturn INT-20 (V-A, Intermediate-20) was a proposed two-stage American heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Saturn family, studied under the Apollo Applications Program as a cost-effective option using the Saturn V first stage (S-IC) paired directly with the S-IVB upper stage, omitting the S-II second stage. Standing approximately 67 m tall with a 10.1 m core diameter, it would have provided substantial heavy-lift capability at reduced cost. Conceived around 1965, the Saturn INT-20 was one of several Saturn-derived vehicle concepts that were shelved when post-Apollo budgets were cut.
