Mission Profile

The Falcon Heavy (FH) is a two-stage American heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Falcon 9 family, consisting of three Falcon 9 first-stage cores strapped together to create the most powerful operational rocket by a factor of two at its debut. Standing 70 m tall with a 3.7 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 1,421 tonnes, it generates 22,819 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 63,800 kg to low Earth orbit or 26,700 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in February 2018 with a Tesla Roadster as its payload, the Falcon Heavy has become the launch vehicle of choice for the heaviest US government and commercial payloads, with all three boosters capable of propulsive landing and reuse.
