Mission Profile
The Angara A5 Briz-M (14A112) is a three-to-four-stage Russian heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Angara family, the largest variant using five Universal Rocket Modules clustered around a central core with a Briz-M upper stage. Standing 64 m tall with an 8.9 m total diameter and a liftoff mass of 773 tonnes, it generates 9,610 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 24,500 kg to low Earth orbit or 5,400 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in December 2014, the Angara A5 is Russia's next-generation heavy-lift launcher intended to replace the Proton-M for national security and commercial missions.
