Mission Profile
The Atlas SLV3 was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Atlas family, a standardised Space Launch Vehicle variant of the venerable Atlas ICBM. Standing 25.1 m tall with a 3.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 118 tonnes, it generated 1,740 kN of liftoff thrust. First flying in June 1966, the Atlas SLV3 served as the core booster for numerous Atlas-Agena and Atlas-Centaur combinations, continuing the Atlas family's transition from weapon system to reliable space launch platform.
