Mission Profile

The Delta II 7420-10 (Delta 7420-10) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, a lightweight configuration using four GEM-40 solid rocket boosters and a 10-foot diameter payload fairing. Standing 38.9 m tall with a 2.4 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 170 tonnes, it generated 2,966 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 2,993 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in February 1998, the Delta II 7420-10 was tailored for medium-weight government and scientific payloads requiring precise orbital insertion.
