Mission Profile

The Thorad SLV2G Agena D (Long Tank Thrust Augmented Thor) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, combining a lengthened Thor first stage with solid strap-on motors and an Agena D upper stage. Standing 23.5 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 59 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust. First flying in August 1966 under the Thor IRBM Program, the Thorad SLV2G Agena D launched classified military reconnaissance and surveillance satellites during the Cold War.
