The Athena 3 (Athena III) was a proposed three-stage American launch vehicle in the Peacekeeper-derived family, designed to offer increased payload capacity over the smaller Athena variants by adding solid-fuel strap-on boosters. Conceived around 1998, the Athena 3 was intended to expand the commercial small-to-medium satellite launch market but was never built, as market conditions and competition from other launchers rendered the concept unviable.
