Mission Profile

Delta IV Medium+ (4,2) is an Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle variant produced by Boeing and later United Launch Alliance, featuring a 4-meter fairing and two solid rocket boosters alongside the Common Booster Core. The 63-meter vehicle first flew on 20 November 2002 and could lift 11,470 kg to LEO using its RS-68 main engine and GEM-60 strap-ons. It formed part of the EELV family designed to ensure reliable US government access to space at competitive cost.
