Mission Profile

J-1A (also known as J-IA) is a proposed two-stage Japanese small launch vehicle from the Mu rocket family, studied around 2009 as a cost-effective successor to bring solid-propellant launch technology forward. It was conceived to combine heritage hardware with modern avionics for deploying small satellites into low Earth orbit. The concept was ultimately not developed into a flight vehicle.
