Maia Launch Vehicle

Mission Profile

Maia is a planned two-stage reusable small orbital launch vehicle under development by MaiaSpace, an Arianespace subsidiary created as part of ArianeGroup's response to the European new space market. Standing approximately 30 meters tall and designed to carry small satellite payloads to low Earth orbit, Maia aims to provide routine, affordable dedicated launch services for the growing small satellite commercial market. With a planned inaugural flight around 2027 and operations from the Guiana Space Centre, Maia represents ArianeGroup's strategy to compete directly in the commercial small launch market that has been disrupted by Rocket Lab's Electron and other new entrants, using reusable technology developed under the European Launcher Challenge program.
