Mission Profile

Delta IV M+(5,2) is a configuration of the Delta IV EELV family featuring the 5-meter payload fairing and two Graphite Epoxy Motor (GEM-60) solid rocket boosters, providing enhanced performance over the baseline medium variant. Standing 66.4 meters tall with a liftoff mass of 336,000 kg and generating 3,643 kN of thrust, it can deliver 10,090 kg to low Earth orbit. Making its first flight in April 2012, this configuration served primarily for deployments of large national security and commercial satellites requiring performance beyond the baseline Delta IV M but not warranting the Delta IV Heavy. It reflects the Delta IV family's modular flexibility in matching launch vehicle capability to diverse payload requirements.
