GYUB-TV2
🇰🇷Goche Yeollyo Uju Balsache Solid Fuel Launch Vehicle
Mission Profile
GYUB-TV2 (Goche Yeollyo Uju Balsache Solid Fuel Launch Vehicle) is a South Korean single-stage experimental solid-fuel launch vehicle developed as part of the government's program to test and validate domestic solid rocket motor technology for future space launch applications. Making its first flight in December 2023, it represents a significant step in South Korea's effort to develop an indigenous solid-propellant orbital launch capability, supplementing the liquid-fueled Nuri rocket program. The GYUB program reflects South Korea's broader strategic interest in developing solid-fuel ballistic and space launch vehicles, which were previously restricted under agreements with the United States but were permitted under updated bilateral missile guidelines.
