Mission Profile

Delta 2310 was a two-to-three-stage American launch vehicle in the versatile Delta family, combining the Extended Long Tank Thor core with a liquid-fueled second stage to serve as a capable medium-class workhorse for the mid-1970s. Standing 35.4 meters tall with a liftoff mass of 145,000 kg and generating 2,090 kN of thrust, it could deliver 1,820 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in November 1974, the Delta 2310 series served NASA and commercial customers by launching scientific satellites and communications spacecraft, continuing the Delta family's unbroken tradition of reliable medium-lift service that stretched from the early 1960s through the first decade of the 21st century.
