Mission Profile

LVM3 (Launch Vehicle Mark 3), formerly designated GSLV Mark III, is India's most powerful and capable orbital launch vehicle, developed by ISRO to enable heavy satellite deployments and support the country's human spaceflight ambitions. Standing 43.5 meters tall with a liftoff mass of 640,000 kg and generating 10,670 kN of thrust from its twin L110 liquid core and S200 solid strap-on boosters, it can deliver up to 10,000 kg to low Earth orbit. Since its maiden flight in June 2017, LVM3 has served as the primary vehicle for India's heavy communications satellites and achieved global recognition by launching the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, which made India the fourth nation to successfully land on the Moon in 2023.
