Mission Profile

Agnibaan is a planned two-stage Indian small satellite launch vehicle developed by Agnikul Cosmos, a Chennai-based private space startup aiming to serve the growing commercial small satellite market with flexible and cost-effective orbital access. Measuring 18 meters in length and designed to deliver 300 kg to low Earth orbit, Agnibaan is notable for using the Agnilet — claimed to be the world's first fully 3D-printed rocket engine — which dramatically simplifies manufacturing and reduces production time. A sub-orbital technology demonstrator flight took place in 2024, with the orbital vehicle planned for its inaugural flight around 2027. Agnibaan represents the vanguard of India's growing private space sector following ISRO's opening of commercial space activities.
