Mission Profile

Angara 1.2 is a Russian small-lift launch vehicle built around the Universal Rocket Module (URM-1) — the same standardized core stage used across the entire Angara family, from the small Angara 1.2 to the heavy Angara A5. Standing 41.5 meters tall with a liftoff mass of 171,000 kg and generating 1,920 kN of thrust, it can deliver up to 3,800 kg to low Earth orbit on its two stages. Achieving its first operational launch in April 2022, it provides a modern replacement for the aging Rokot vehicle and anchors Russia's strategy of fielding a modular, scalable family of next-generation rockets to replace its Soviet-era fleet launched from Russian soil.
