Mission Profile

The Delta 0300 (DSV-3P) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Thor-Delta family, representing a baseline non-augmented configuration from the early 1970s that used a single main engine without strap-on solid boosters for lighter scientific payloads. Standing 35.4 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 87 tonnes, it generated 921 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 600 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in October 1972, the Delta 0300 was used for small scientific and technology demonstration satellite missions during a period when the Delta family was transitioning to the more capable augmented configurations.
