Mission Profile

The Véronique AGI (Année Géophysique Internationale) was a French single-stage sounding rocket developed for high-altitude atmospheric research during the 1957-1958 International Geophysical Year, based on the earlier Véronique series. Standing 7.2 m tall with a 0.6 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 1,364 kg, it generated 40 kN of thrust from its liquid propellant motor. First flown in March 1959, the Véronique AGI contributed to France's growing atmospheric research program and helped build the national rocketry expertise that would later support the development of the Diamant orbital launch vehicle.
