Mission Profile

The Atlas V N22 is a two-stage American medium-lift launch vehicle featuring no strap-on boosters and a dual-engine Centaur upper stage, developed for National Security Space Launch missions requiring a wider payload volume and enhanced upper-stage performance. Standing 58.3 m tall with a 3.8 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 444 tonnes, it generates 6,549 kN of combined liftoff thrust and can deliver 12,500 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in December 2019 on the inaugural Boeing Starliner Orbital Flight Test, the N22 configuration marked the operational introduction of the dual-engine Centaur for missions demanding higher upper-stage performance.
