Mission Profile

Energia Uragan (11K25) was a Soviet heavy-lift launch vehicle concept studied under the Energia program in the late 1980s, envisioned as a cargo delivery variant that could carry an Uragan orbital module in place of the Buran shuttle orbiter. Sharing the Energia's two-stage core configuration with a 60 m height, 7.7 m diameter, and 2,400 tonne liftoff mass generating 34,840 kN of thrust, it was proposed to supply Soviet space stations without requiring a full crewed orbiter. The concept never progressed beyond initial design studies before Soviet space funding collapsed in the early 1990s.
