Mission Profile
The OmegaA was a proposed medium-to-heavy lift launch vehicle developed by Orbital ATK (later Northrop Grumman) as a competitor in the U.S. Air Force's National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Phase 2 competition. Standing 59.8 m tall with a 5.3 m diameter core, three stages, and a projected LEO capacity of 10,000 kg, it was designed to provide a domestically-sourced alternative to existing launch vehicles for national security payloads. The OmegaA program was cancelled in 2020 when Northrop Grumman was not selected as an NSSL Phase 2 launch provider, but it represented a credible effort to reenter the competitive medium-to-heavy lift market.
