Mission Profile

The EA-EOLE 1941 was an early French experimental rocket developed as part of the wartime EOLE project, representing one of the first indigenous French efforts to develop rocket propulsion technology. A single-stage vehicle with its maiden flight recorded in March 1945, it operated in extremely difficult conditions during the final months of World War II in occupied Europe. Though modest in capability and specifications, the EA-EOLE 1941 stands as a pioneering chapter in French rocketry history, predating the postwar programs that would ultimately lead to the development of the Ariane family.
