Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center Launch Area 4 SLS-2
🇨🇳LC-43/94
Mission Profile
Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center's Launch Area 4 SLS-2 (LC-43/94) is China's primary launch pad for the Long March 2C, 2D, 4B, and 4C medium-lift rockets, supporting a broad range of Earth observation, meteorological, navigation, and scientific satellite missions from the oldest operational Chinese launch facility in the Gobi Desert of Inner Mongolia. The site has been in operation since 2003 and handles a high launch cadence given the large number of Chinese government and commercial satellites requiring sun-synchronous and polar orbits that Jiuquan's 40.6° North latitude serves well. The facility includes vertical integration buildings and propellant loading systems sized for the Long March 2/4 family of vehicles using storable N₂O₄/UDMH propellants.
