Mission Profile

The Long March 11H launchpad aboard the DeBo-3 special converted barge is China's sea launch platform for the Long March 11H (11 Hypergolic) rocket, enabling launches from the Yellow Sea equatorial approach corridors that reduce propellant consumption for sun-synchronous and inclined orbits. First used on 15 September 2020, the barge-based system allows propellant loading to occur offshore away from populated areas and provides flexible launch positioning unavailable from China's fixed inland launch sites. Sea launches also allow the spent first stages to fall safely into the ocean rather than over populated inland territories, a persistent safety concern with China's inland launch facilities. The program has successfully supported multiple commercial satellite constellation missions.
