Mission Profile

Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Launch Complex 41 (LC-41) is a major US orbital launch facility rebuilt in the 1990s for Atlas III and Atlas V operations after the original Titan III and Titan IV complex was demolished. Since its first Atlas V launch in August 2002, LC-41 has supported over 100 missions ranging from GPS replenishment to flagship planetary science missions including New Horizons, Curiosity, and MAVEN. United Launch Alliance leases the facility and is adapting it for the Vulcan Centaur rocket, which began launches from LC-41 in 2024. The pad features a 100-meter Vertical Integration Facility where the Atlas V or Vulcan is assembled horizontally and then rolled out vertically to the pad on a transporter erector.
